Arnaud Pfeffer is an industrial designer and mechanical engineer who lives and works in Paris. His work explores the intersection of mechanical precision and the physical quality of a gesture. He repurposes machines and tools, from tattoo machines to rotary brushes, to reveal unexpected graphical elements and the unforeseen. This makes the interaction between automatic movement and organic marks visible. Inspired by the maker movement, he designs his own tools and explores the potential of digital drawing, inks, and color, experimenting with viscosity, saturation, and color superimposition. His work questions the boundaries between craft and industry, process and result, creating pieces that re-enchant our relationship with everyday forms and techniques.
